Background
Lisa
was exposed to photography as a child when her father
let her play around with a Kodak Brownie camera. She took snapshots
of snakes, dogs and the Mullet River. Jerad also introduced her
to the darkroom in his classroom at Plymouth High School. She
thought it was magical!
Always an artist
at heart, Lisa has explored her creativity in many ways. She
received a Bachelors degree in music and soon after started a
jingle business. Lisa had more success in 1996 when she created
an online forum/consulting business for radio announcers. She
learned a lot about the Internet and began making websites for
other small businesses, which included taking photographs of
people and real estate.
Lisas
day job was a radio and television career in the
Madison and La Crosse areas. She continually took classes, grew
her knowledge, and progressed from being a news reporter to office
manager to graphic designer to becoming the marketing manager
for a regional media center.
In 2000, Lisa
decided to study photography and her goal was to start a photography
business in ten years
in 2010! So she began taking classes
and at the same time, digital photography was taking off and
Lisa was able to jump right in, thanks to her experience in website
design and graphic design. A job change by her husband brought
her full circle -- back to Sheboygan County -- where in 2005,
Lisa began her foray into photography as a career.
Her photographic
knowledge has been enhanced by classes at WPPA's Treehaven, Milwaukee
Institute of Art & Design, MATC in Madison, online classes
from Lynda.com and ed2go, plus the University of Wisconsins
School of the Arts.
